New Crest Designed by the Ort(h)lieb society

Ort(h)lieb Crest

This crest was designed by the Ort(h)lieb association as a result of the inability, at the time, to find a family crest for our unusual last name. This was during the dawning of the internet and resources and search capabilities at the time were nascent.

Orthlieb also Ortlieb, knighted by Kurfuerst (‘elector”) Max Joseph III of Bavaria 1745.

Gules, 2 doves affrontee Argent, set on a hillock of the same and supporting together of their beaks a rose Or, the field chaped Azure, 2 roses Or, and a chevron Or, debruising on division. Crest: doves with the rose. Lambrequins: Or and Gules. 

Red, 2 doves facing silver, set on a hillock of the same and supporting together of their beaks a gold rose, the field chaped blue, 2 gold roses, and a gold-bordered silver chevron, debruising on division. Crest: doves with the rose. Lambrequins: gold and red.

Ortlieb

Gules, a fess Argent, accompanied of three bezants of the same. Crest: a vol of 2 wings conjoined in base Gules, semy of bezants Argent.

Red, a center band of silver, accompanied by three circles of the same. Crest: a vol of 2 wings conjoined in base red, semi of circles silver.

Per bend wavy Gules on Argent, 2 leaves of linden, addorsed and issuing the per bend one, that on the Argent Gules and that on the Gules Argent. Crest: a vol of 2 wings endorsed, bearing the arms of the shield. 

Wavy diagonal from left top to bottom right red on silver, 2 linden leaves, set back to back and issuing the coming out from the diagonal, that on the silver red and that on the red silver. Crest: a vol of 2 wings facing each other, bearing the arms of the shield.
